Market research firm DFC Intelligence is joining forces with the recently founded Embassy Multimedia Consultants (EMC) for improved access to videogame market data.DFC Intelligence, the company behind the recent widely read analysis, “Is It Possible to Surpass World of Warcraft?”, will provide its market intelligence to the videogame consulting agency. YOUR SOUL!!!! J/K. Looks prosperous if they know what they're talking about. Most of them claim to know what they are talking about. But as avid gamers ourselves it would be fairly simple to determine that.

While its true gamers can determine many factors themselves. For game developers, unless you are heading towards the business side, is going to be lacking - in regards to time.
That's why game consultants are established and brought to our attention - to provide the service that many of us are unwilling or lack the resources to do so.
However, i'll probably look into Dave Perry's gameconsultants.com first.

In my defense:
- i was recovering from a cold - it was late at night - i haven't had much sleep
Having realized my runon, here's another go at it:
Gamers, like you said, CAN determine many factors without the need of consulting. However, when you become a game developer, you have to concentrate on your specialties so much that you don't have much(if any) time to invest into looking into what they offer. Normally, this is a business department matter (advertising, marketing, distribution, etc.,)
And since there are currently no one specifically devoted to that field, that's not going to happen.
