Last year, it turns out, was a spectacular for everyone in the console video game business, not just Nintendo. The console business raked in $12.5 billion, a 19 percent increase over last year. Hardware sales, portable and console combined, accounted for $4.6 billion in the sales, up 42.8 percent from last year. Another 6.5 billion came from console and portable software sales, an increase of 6.4 percent. The remaining $1.5 billion came from accessory sales, an increase of 18.9 percent over last year. Bottom line, everyone celebrate we're all rich! Oh, wait a second, I mean poor. www.kotaku.com/gaming/npd/npd-industry-is-kicking-@$$-taking-names-228219.php
