Sims, Pogo fly the friendly skies Electronic Arts signs deal with in-flight entertainment company to feature Sims 2, casual games as options for airborne diversions. By Tim Surette, GameSpot Posted Sep 21, 2006 10:52 am PT
The next time a plane's captain announces the flight will be in a holding pattern for an hour, it may not be such a bad thing. Electronic Arts today announced that it has entered an agreement with in-flight-entertainment specialist DTI Software to bring some of its properties to airline companies.
The Sims 2 and Pogo.com games Poppit!, Word Whomp, Phlinx, Tri-Peaks Solitaire, Harvest Mania, Tumble Bees, Great Escapes Solitaire, and Turbo 21 will be offered as "next-generation in-flight entertainment."
Montreal-based DTI works with 61 airline companies around the world, offering games and other entertainment to travelers. The EA titles in the agreement will be in-flight entertainment versions of the games. Further details have not yet been announced.
This isn't the first time gaming companies have taken flight. In addition to various classic games already playable on some luxury airliners, Nintendo recently offered complimentary time with Nintendo DS Lites to passengers of Japan Air.

I remember over 2 decades ago when I had access to portable Donkey Kong, Pac Man and Space Invaders for my trip to Japan.
Ahh...good times.
