MSN Games and the YWCA are teaming up to launch a game-themed fundraiser. Playing for a Cause let gamers donate to YWCA programs by playing online games. "More than half of our regular players at MSN Games are women, so working with a national organization like the YWCA USA that is dedicated to community programming for women made perfect sense," said Lisa Sikora, Marketing Lead for Microsoft Casual Games. "With our 'Playing for a Cause' campaign, not only do thousands of women get to take a quick break from their harried schedules, but they can feel good doing it!" "The YWCA USA is driven to empower women," said Peggy Sanchez Mills, YWCA USA CEO. "Playing for a Cause enables the MSN Games community to better the lives of women, girls and their families by strengthening our programming and community outreach efforts nationwide." GameDaily reports that the charity runs from today through Aug. 31 and can be accessed via website playingforacause.msn.com. Oddly enough, the site doesn't work and I can't find any reference to the fundraiser on the MSN Games or YWCA sites. Strange. www.kotaku.com/gaming/ywca/gaming-for-a-cause-188376.php
