EGAEL Announces 2007 Initiatives for eGames in eLearningThe non-profit university affiliated Electronic Games, Simulations and Personalized eLearning (EGAEL) Initiative has announced a new focus on the use of eGames in eLearning and, more specifically, in personalized eLearning processes. The general aim of all these activities is to research and discuss the benefits, drawbacks, and current state of the development and use of educational and general electronic games and simulations and their relation with the personalized eLearning experience of learners and teachers. Submissions to the Workshop on Electronic Games and Personalized eLearning Processes are due March 1, 2007. ICALT 2007 takes place in Japan during July, while ISAGA 2007 happens in The Netherlands also in July. Submissions to journals are due June 1, 2007. The international journal Simulation & Gaming special issue on "eGames and Adaptive eLearning" focuses on the practical but theoretically supported experience and on the development of eGames. The international journal Computers in Human Behavior special issue on "Electronic Games and Personalized eLearning Processes" focuses on the pedagogical research and implications of the use of eGames.
