Event organizers have announced iDiDx, a Louisiana-based Digital Media Showcase "dedicated to exploring the intersection of entertainment, arts, culture and technology in a global marketplace", and including video game content in its program. iDiDx will showcase digital cinema, digital music, video games, animation, simulation and visualization, robotics—all works in-development. (Anything without distribution is considered 'in-Development'). In addition, there will be pitching opportunities, panel discussions, exhibits and demonstrations. The first annual event will take place from May 7th to 11th of this year, and will also include a video game tournament inviting both creators and enthusiasts to compete. The event, according to organizers, "will facilitate the development of local as well as global infrastructure designed to maximize next-generation entertainment technology." iDiDx will also partner with Tech South, a technology & business expo, and more information on the event is available at the official iDiDx website.
