Though still around, 2D games are hardly the majority dwarfed in number by bigger, badder, and more glitzy 3D games. But with a significant amount of gamers having cut their teeth on the perspective, how many titles will find a home on next-gen consoles? As a bonus to developers -- given the demand -- 2D games cost significantly less to make with the potential of a better ROI. So... Will/would you buy 2D games for next-gen systems?- Yes! Lots of 'em.
- No! More 3D for me.
- Maybe. It all depends.

Poll results: Joystiq readers like 2D gamesThe results are in after 12,000+ votes, and the majority of Joystiq readers are willing to lay down monies on 2D games this generation. An additional 42% agreed, but want to see the goods first. So will the industry always hold 2D games close to the heart regardless of the endless 2D vs. 3D debate? Probably. It's called roots. feeds.joystiq.com/~r/weblogsinc/joystiq/~3/64783763/
