In a little over a month I will turn 29 years old, and as I was thinking about how close I am to the dreaded 30, I wondered if the first generation of gamers will still be playing games in the future. Will we still be playing video games when we are 50, 60 or even 80 years old? Will retirement homes around the world have to install Xbox’s and Playstation’s to keep its residents happy? Today you could not imagine walking into a retirement home and seeing a bunch of seniors gathered around a TV screaming “YOU GOT OWNED”, but more and more it looks inevitable! When gamers rule the retirement homes their will be no war stories, only war games. Sure we may have never served in a real war, but gal darn it we have killed a lot of Nazi’s. We will not break our hips by falling in the shower. We will break them by trying to do the cabbage patch after getting a triple kill. No longer will you see seniors drinking prune juice. They will be downing Red Bulls like crazy to stay awake while looting in WOW 2056. www.aeropause.com/archives/2006/08/gaming_when_im.php
