An employee of copy protection software company Star Force has apparently been posting links to illegal torrents. A developer of the critically-acclaimed strategy game Galactic Civilizations II has posted a message discussing how an employee of the company behind the StarForce copy-protection had the nerve to link to a site distributing torrents of the pirated version of the game on the StarForce message boards. This was supposed to prove that "several thousands of people are downloading the pirated version" after the developers decided to not use the StarForce copy protection or similar methods. The developer of the game, Stardock, believes the primary weapon in fighting piracy is "rewarding customers through convenient, frequent, free updates" if they have a legit serial number.
